Abstract

Since time immemorial Middle East had been a point of interest and focus area for the world powers mainly because of it’s geo-strategic importance and rich oil deposits. The region still holds good as an important area in the globe for its significant influence in the world politics. Recent Arab Spring in Middle East and North African countries has given rise to the new political, economic and security dimensions in the region. The issue concerns Bangladesh being a third world developing country inadequately endowed with the natural resources and therefore, need to explore the opportunity in the region specially the remittances through migrant workers. Again Bangladesh being a Muslim country, its vast populations are vulnerable from religious exploitation by the vested groups. All these factors make the recent Arab Spring important to us. Therefore, it is essential to identify the reasons of such situation including its impact on sociopolitico and economic aspects of Bangladesh and suggest measures to address the situation for future.
